LG has been teasing the launch of its new premium device , LG Velvet for some days now. With the teaser, we already knew the design and specifications of the new smartphone. The highlight of the device from the promo was the rear camera design which mimicked rain droplets. Apart from this, the device also has a very nice built and very good display. The new LG Velvet comes with a refreshed design where the device is slim and sleek with a classy finish. The device is curved at both the ends and weighs only 180g only.The front of the phone has a huge 6.8-inch OLED display with a waterdrop notch and the rear part of the device has the rain drop triple camera setup. There is presence of In-display finger print sensor under the display.
The smartphone is powered by Snapdragon 765 processor with 5G connectivity. You get 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage with UFS 2.1. The camera setup of the device consist of 48MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 5MP depth sensor. LG has stuffed in tons of features with respect to camera in the device. It includes time-lapse with automatic and manual speed change; a steady cam feature for shake-free videos; ASMR recording, voice out-of-focus which reduces background noise and 3D AR stickers with 3D mesh technology so the AR sticker blends with the face of the subject.
The device comes with all default connectivity options including an audio jack, NFC, and Bluetooth 5.0. As with most premium LG phones, this device is has IP68 rating and MIL-STD 810G specifications. Another highlight of the device is the support for Stylus pen. Though you have to buy the pen separately, it has good number of features. It is a Wacom Stylus with 4096 pressure levels for note-taking, drawing, and more. The company has included an app named Nebo that converts your handwritten notes into typed texts including formulas and charts.
Finally, the LG Velvet has decent 4300mAh battery with fast charging support and runs on Android 10. It comes in Aurora White, Aurora Gray, Illusion Sunset, and Aurora Green color options. The price of the device is set at priced at KRW 899,800 (~ ₹55,745) and already available for sale in South Korea. There are no details on the global launch of the phone yet.
