Asus as expected launched its 2018 version of Zenfone series at the Mobile World Congress Event, Barcelona. The smartphones are right up there in terms specifications and design language. The presence of 18:9 all displays, Face Unlock, AI enabled features and Asus’s ZeniMoji are the major highlights and are in line with 2018 trends in smartphones. Asus Zenfone 5Z, Zenfone 5 and Zenfone 5 Lite are the three main phones announced in the event. Let’s check out each of them in detail along with specifications.
Asus Zenfone 5Z
Asus Zenfone 5Z is the 2018 Flagship smartphone of the company. The all screen design of the phone at the front and present of notch at the top end is cannily similar to the iPhone X design. Even the rear side has vertical Dual-cam setup similar to the Apple’s flagship smartphone. So it’s no secret that there has been a lot of inspiration taken from the iPhoneX. The device will be priced at EUR 479 and will be available for purchase only from June month. Let’s check out the specifications

Other unique features for this smartphone related to Audio experience include dual 5-magnet speakers with dual NXP smart amplifiers, a PMIC internal dual amplifier, triple internal microphones with noise reduction, Hi-Res Audio and DTS Headphone. Connectivity options include G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, NFC, GPS/ A-GPS, FM radio, USB Type-C, and 3.5mm headphone jack.
The smartphone will come in Midnight Blue and Meteor Silver colour variants.
Asus Zenfone 5
Asus Zenfone 5 is step down version of 5Z and primarily targeting the mid-range segment with Snapdragon 636 Processor. The design language from Zenfone 5Z (all display with notch at top) is carried over to this smartphone. Let’s check out the specifications.

As we can see, the specifications is similar to Zenfone 5Z expect for Processor, RAM and Internal Storage. The phone will come in Midnight Blue and Meteor Silver colour variants.
Asus Zenfone 5 Lite
Asus Zenfone 5 Lite is targeted towards the budget segment in the range of Rs 15,000. We may see an immediate competition to Redmi Note 5 series phone as Zenfone 5 Lite is planned for March Month launch. Lets check out the phone’s specifications

All default connectivity options are present for the smartphone. With 3300mAH battery its rated to provide 30hours talk time on 3G. The phone will be available in Midnight Black, Moonlight White and Rogue Red colour variants.
There is no official announce on India launch date but we expect Asus to follow the worldwide launch timeline for India as well.
