Apple today launched a new light version iPad which is targeted towards education sector. The entry level 9.7inch iPad comes with Apple Pencil support and also has kid’s specific apps. This launch event also saw the announcement of education programs from the Company. Let’s check out the new iPad’s specification.

This new iPad is very similar to the 2017 iPad version except for the new Apple A10 Fusion Processor. So RAM and Battery capacity should be the same. Connectivity options include 4G LTE ,Wi-Fi 802.11ac ,Bluetooth v4.2 and A-GPS . The 2018 iPad comes in Wi-Fi and Cellular version. The device is priced at $299 for students and $329 for other customers.
In India, the price of the new iPad is Rs 28,00 for Wi-Fi version and Rs 38,000 for Wifi+Cellular version. Another bummer is that you have to purchase Apple Pencil separately which will cost an additional Rs 7,600. The device is already available for purchase in U.S and in India it will go on sale in April.
Apart from this Apple announced few education specific apps like SchoolWork which enables teachers to create and track assignments. The education program ‘Everyone Can Create Curriculum’ will make drawing, learning music and photography a fun activity.
