VPN, Virtual Private Network is an application used by many of us to override our actual network connectivity details to the Internet. VPN could be used for security purpose to safeguard your privacy or to access websites which may not have permission/blocked in your region. For Firefox users, you should know that the browser still shares your IP address to the internet even while using VPN. Here we’ll share a small trick, as how to stop Firefox from leaking your IP address.
In most of the browsers, there is a built-in feature called WebRTC ( Web Real-Time Communication). This one actually lets you stream audio and video in the browser without any additional software. All you need is to disable this feature using the steps below to prevent IP address being shared.
Steps to Stop Firefox from leaking your IP
1. Open FireFox browser
2. Type ‘about:config’ in the address bar and press ‘Enter’
3. Accept the ‘dragons’ risk
4. Find the entry named ‘media.peerconnection.enabled’
