Asus has completely revamped its newZenfone phone compared to its predecessor. The first striking thing about the device is the no-notch, clean and full screen with up to 92% screen-to-body ratio protected by Gorilla glass 6. There is a dedicated smart switch at the side of phone allowing you to customize actions like tapping, double tapping by mapping to any app.
The major highlight of the phone is the innovative ‘Flip Camera’ setup. It consists of 48MP Sony IMX586 f/1.79 1.6µm primary camera and 13MP 125° ultra-wide angle camera to take selfies. The actual setup is more complex including a gravitational sensor, a gyro sensor, a hall sensor, and an upper speaker. ASUS says there are 13 gears in the module. The flipping mechanism enables the phone to capture 90° angle pictures so you don’t need a tripod and can shoot at new angles.
AsusZenfone6 has a mammoth 5000mAh battery, which is quite a rarity in high-end devices so you don’t need to worry about battery backup. It also supports quick Charge 4 (18W) and reverse charging (10W). Another good news is that Asus has cleaned up its software and provides a near stock android experience. This phone is now part of Android Beta program and get guaranteed updates to Android Q and Android R. All default connectivity options are present in the phone.
The price of the device is set at 499 Euro for 6GB/64Gb variant, 559 Euro for 6GB/128GB and 599 Euro for 8GB/256GB variant. TheZenfone6 comes in Midnight Black and Twilight Silver color options and goes on sale in Europe from May 25. However, India launch and pricing details is still not known.
