PUBG Ban in India ; 6-hour daily limit and health reminders are coming soon

PUBG Ban

PUBG Mobile online gaming have generated massive interest in India and has become very popular among the young age groups in the country. However, due to this there has been reports of youth getting addicted to the game and being completely immersed in the game play where they have started to ignore day to day duties. The concern has become such critical that this mobile game was banned in few places in India which includes the state of Gujarat. For people who do play the game over ban are getting arrested! This sounds over the top actions for a mere mobile game but it is what it is now.

So due to this issue, PUBG Mobile gaming creator Tencent has gone on damage control mode by giving out a statement and also testing some India specific features to control this addiction. The Statement from the Company

“PUBG Mobile is a game. It is meant merely for entertainment and should be enjoyed in a healthy and responsible manner. In consonance with our endeavour to continue promoting responsible gaming experience, we are working on the introduction of a healthy gameplay system in India to promote balanced, responsible gaming, including limiting play time for under-aged players. We were thus surprised to learn that local authorities in a few cities have decided to impose a ban on playing our game. We are working to understand the legal basis of such bans, and hope we can have a constructive dialogue with relevant authorities to explain our objectives and that they withdraw the prohibition. To PUBG Mobile players, we want to assure you that we are on your side and we will try our best to find a reasonable solution.”

On top of this, it looks like the company has started to introduced few control features to prevent over play of the game in the country. Some PUBG gamers have started to get notifications on 6 hours daily game play limit where one cannot play the game more than 6 hour in a day.
