OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro With Snapdragon 865 SoC, 5G Support, 30W WiFi Wrap Charging Launched

After months of leaks, rumors and specs, OnePlus has finally launched its latest smartphone, the Oneplus 8 Series. The series comprises of Oneplus 8 and Oneplus 8 Pro. The main difference between the two phones are on display, camera and battery. The device goes on sale from April 16. Let’s check out the complete specifications of the phone.

The design of the new Oneplus 8 series phone don’t have a significant change, it follows the oneplus 7 phone’s design majorly. The back finish of the phone is now more like 3D matte finish and the camera bump is a bit higher too. The front of the phone has the display curved at the edges and small pill-shaped notch for selfie camera. Between the two devices, Oneplus 8 is marketed as compact flagship with 8mm thickness and shorter and tighter curves around the body for better grip.

The display of the Oneplus phone is always talked about and with Oneplus 8 Pro the screen features new MEMC chip for up-scaling video and gaming to a higher frame rate. The oneplus 8 pro display has QHD AMOLED 6.78 display with 120Hz refresh rate while the standard variant has 6.55-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate. Both the devices support HDR 10+ and 1100 nits peak brightness.

Both the device is powered by the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor with 5G coupled with 8GB/12GB RAM and upto 128GB/256GB internal storage. Both the phone has features such as stereo speakers, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1 support with aptX audio and new haptic vibration 2.0. The latest version of Oxygen OS is present in the devices which supports Dark Mode 2.0 version.

The highlight of the Oneplus 8 series are in the camera setup. The Pro variant setup consist of 48MP IMX689 Sony Sensor with f/1.78 (OIS + EIS), 48MP IMX586 Sony Sensor with f/2.2 and 120-degree FOV , 8MP Telephoto sensor with f/2.4 – 3x optical zoom and 30x digital zoom (OIS), 5MP Color Filter sensor with f/2.4. It has Laser AF and Dual LED flash.

The Camera of standard Oneplus 8 has 48MP IMX586 Sony Sensor with f/1.75 (OIS + EIS), 16MP Ultra Wide Angle Camera with f/2.4 and 116-degree FOV, 2MP (1.75-micron pixels) Macro Camera with f/2.4 (up to 3cm). Also, it has Dual LED Flash. Both the devices support 4K 60fps video recording. The Selfie camera in both the models is 16MP shooter.

In term of battery, the standard Oneplus 8 has a 4300mAh battery with 30W Warp Charge 30T fast charging. The OnePlus 8 Pro comes with a 4510mAh battery with 30W fast charging and 30W Warp Charge 30 Wireless. It can go from 3% to 55% in just 30 minutes of wireless charging. It is also the first time time you get IP68 certifications for a oneplus phone. The price of the Oneplus 8 starts at $699 ( Rs 53,000 ) for 8GB/128GB varaint and $799 ( Rs 60,800 ) for 12GB/256GB model. Likewise, the Oneplus 8 Pro starts at $899 ( Rs 68,400 ) for 8GB/128GB variant and $999 ( Rs 76,000 ) for 12GB/256GB model.

The price of phone for India is yet to be announced. The phone comes in Onyx Black, Glacial Green and Interstellar Glow color schemes. The new Oneplus phone goes on sale in North America from April 29. In Europe, pre-orders kick off from April 14 and open sales start from April 21. Globally, the device will go on sale from April 29.
