Motorola has officially announced the all new Motorola Edge and Motorola Edge Plus premium smartphones. From the design and specs, it looks like after a long time the company has come up with a competitive smartphone in terms of hardware and also in built /design aspect. However, the pricing of the phone also is now at a high price range. The highlight of the new Motorola Edge phones are the Endless display design, 90Hz refresh rate screen and 5G support. Apart from this, the advanced camera setup is also another point to note. Let’s check out the details of the phone.

Motorola Edge series phone comes with huge 6.7-inch Endless Edge design display which is full-HD+ OLED panel with 90Hz refresh rate. The display HDR10+ certified  and has punch hole to house the 25MP selfie camera. The display is curved at the edge like the Samsung Galaxy Note, Mi Note 10 and its called as the Endless Edge design. Under the screen, the in-display finger print sensor is present.

The new Motorola Edge is powered by the new Snapdragon 786 processor with 5G support along with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The flagship variant , the Motorola Edge plus is powered by Snapdragon 865 chipset with 5G support and has up to 12GB RAM and 256 internal storage. Both the devices have 3.5mm jack and microSD card support.

Motorola Edge Plus has Quad Camera setup which consist of 108MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture/ 0.8-micron pixel size, 16MP ultra-wide angle camera with f/2.2 aperture/ 117-degree field of view, 8MP telephoto camera and a Time of Flight (ToF) sensor. The main camera is capable of recording 6K videos at 30fps and has OIS. The camera setup of Edge variant is same expect that instead of 108MP sensor, it has 64MP sensor and there is no ToF sensor in it.

The battery of Edge plus is 5000mAh with 18W fast charging ( 15W WiFi charging ) wheres the Edge variant has 4500mAh battery with 15W fast charging. Both the devices run on vanilla Android 10 OS. All default connectivity options including 5G, Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax (Wi-Fi 6), GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BDS are present in the phones.

Motorola Edge Plus comes in Smoky Sangria and Thunder Grey colour options , priced at $999 ( Rs 76,200 ). The price of the Motorola Edge phone is not announced and it comes in Solar Black and Midnight Magenta shades. The phones go on sale from May 14 via Verizon in U.S. The launch details of the phone in other regions including India is still not known. We’ll keep you posted with the details.
