Micromax to offer low-cost feature phones with 4G VOLTE
Micromax India which was the second-largest handset company till recently is trying to compete with Chinese rivals which are popular currently. To beat the competition, it is now placing its hopes on low-cost feature phones supporting 4G VoLTE calls. It should be noted that Micromax has gone down from the top to the fifth position in the overall rankings in the market.
The 4G VoLTE feature has become the new demand due to Reliance Jio foray into the mobile segment late last year offering free 4G voice calls.
The basic phones rumoured to be called Bharat One, would be priced at Rs 2,500, while a smartphone with the 4G VoLTE feature, called Bharat Two, is also planned to be launched under $50 (Rs 3,300).Both phones are planned to be launched next month.
Apart from VOLTE feature, the company is also planning to include and facilitate digital payment solutions via these phones.
Micromax Canvas Mega 2 Plus
Micromax Canvas Mega 2 Plus reportedly launched in India. According to a Mumbai-based retailer, the highlight of the phone is 6 inch IPS display and VoLTE support. canvas Mega 2 Plus is priced at ₹7499.
Micromax has quietly unveiled a decent budget large screen smartphone, Canvas Mega 2 Plus. It features a 6-inch qHD IPS display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels resolution. The smartphone is powered by 1.3 GHz quad core processor with is paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The phone’s storage can be further expandable via MicroSD card.
Canvas Mega Plus 2 has 8MP/5MP primary and front camera backed by 3000mAH battery running on Android Marshmallow out of the box.Connectivity options includes Dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, WiFi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and a microUSB port.
