Jio Phone 2 with QWERTY Keyboard & Jio GigaFiber Broadband launched

Today at the Reliance AGM, the company launched the new Jio Phone 2 an update to the last year’s basic model. The highlight of the new Jio Phone 2 is the 2.4inch QVGA display, Qwerty keyboard, and support to WhatsApp, YouTube Apps. The phone is priced at Rs 2,999 and will be available from August 15. There is also an exchange offer where you can get your present feature phone for the new Jio phone at only Rs 501.

The Jio Phone 2 comes with VoLTE, VoWiFi, NFC, GPS, Bluetooth, and FM radio connectivity options and supports LTE Cat4 DL: 150Mbps/UL: 50Mbps, and LTE Band 2,5,40, 2G Band 900/1800 network. At 3K budget and with Jio bundled offers, it’s a good option to go for this if you are specifically want feature phone with smart features.

Jio GigaFiber

At the same event, the Jio GigaFiber FTTP broadband service covering 1,100 cities was also soft launched. Jio GigaFiber claiming to give up to 1Gbps speed will be available from August 15th. Under Jio Giga Fiber, services such as Ultra HD entertainment on TV, multi-party video conferencing, voice-activated virtual assistant, virtual reality gaming and shopping, and smart home solutions will be provided to subscribers Users will also be able to connect VR headsets to their Jio GigaFiber network and view 360-degree content in 4K resolution, Kiran Thomas, President, Reliance Industries Limited, said. This will be achieved by the GigaTV set-top box which will offer 4K channels too.

The registration for the service will start from August 15 via MyJioApp and Jio.com. The rollout of Gigafiber will be done based on the demand location wise.
