Latest Google Maps update improves app’s user experience

 

Recently, a new update for Google Maps for Android is rolled out by Google. This update revamp the home screen of the app and is specially designed for India. The core purpose of this update is to make exploring of places and planning routes easier for the users.

The new home screen now loads faster allowing users to discover, search and explore new places. Now, when you open the app, you will see new directions card with modes of transport allowing one to plan a new route with a single tap. This route can be saved for offline usage making it accessible when you are without data.

Apart from the direction card, another change is the introduction of few useful features like ‘traffic’, satellite image, transport lines in the home screen for quick access. It should be noted that these are existing features but now available in the home screen of the app. Finally, there is download option to save specific map area for offline use.
