Apple today showcased the new iOS12 for iPhones and iPads with numerous features added. This new update will be coming to all the devices currently running iOS11 which is great news. So any one using iPhone5s or the iPad from 2013 will get the new update. Likewise, the version 10.14 of the Mac operating system comes with many new feature such as dark mode, dynamic desktop wallpaper, redesigned App store etc. Let’s check some of them.
iOS12 features
- Performance improvement was one of the main talking point of iOS12. The new OS gives 40% faster app launch, 70% faster camera, 50% faster keyboards and optimized CPU.
- The new AR Kit2 comes with this update and also a new file format ‘USDZ’ for graphics was introduced
- Photosis now getting improved Search with Search Suggestions. You can search by activities, events, locations, vacations, items.
- Siri is enhanced with addition of shortcuts, to create your routine tasks
- App store is redesigned with new Browse section and iBooks will be renamed into Apple Books.
- The Messages app is improved with four new Animojis (coala, ghost, t-rex, and tiger) and brand-new tongue detection.
- Facetime gets updated where you can now have upto 32 people do facetime at a time.
- Some good enhancements in DND mode and notification settings.

MacOS Mojave
Mojave is a major update for the MacOS which introduces many powerful features including the dramatic Dark mode. Other new feature include a new Desktop Stacks feature which is designed to keep your desktop more organized. The redesigned Mac App Store has a new look and includes a rich editorial content to help app discovery. In the new macOS 10.14 version, improvements on security and privacy is also visible. Also, a new function called Continuity Camera allows the Photos app in macOS Mojave to access still shots and video captures from nearby iOS devices.
